Many have heard about
this disaster and many have asked me how my folks are doing in my
motherland, Sri Lanka. Praise be to God, they are fine and
well…appreciate your concern. However this letter is not to tell you
how well my parents are in this New year, neither how they
survived the bloody Tsunami. I feel for many thousands of Sri Lankans who lost their loved ones, those children who are left out
with nobody to care for in the streets, those poor families who had
their shelter washed away to the ocean. When such things occur in
under-developed countries, it takes many years for people to recover
and unbearable for the government to continue aid.
My dear friends, my intention of this
letter is to get as many people as possible to firstly pray and to
build a small fund to send back home to the families in need. My Dad
is a concerned evangelist who is there providing spiritual and
emotional comfort to the victim families. I would like to send some
money through my Dad to donate to the families in greater need. I’m
also planning to send boxes of material goods (canned/dry foods,
clothing, etc) in the near future. I do know that the disaster is so
great that it is impossible to aid every single person but I urge
you to join to take some action about it while praying to our good
Lord to provide His healing. Many hands can make it worth something…
we can surely show our Christ’ love through a simple lending hand.
However, my dear friends, if you cannot provide any financial
support, it is respectfully understood. Please do continue to pray
for all the disaster victims and my parents and others who are in
the frontline helping the helpless.
Thank you for your
concern,
May God bless you.
