After two trips around the Island, mainly northern part (Trincomalee), my parents are back home again exhausted and heartbroken…Yet finds joy in it because of the opportunities that Lord has provided them to witness and to proclaim God’s love.

 

Here's a summery of work and the costs of their trips:

 

1. Started building a house in the town of Uppuweli( in Trincomalee, District of North East), House  for Mr. Madiwadana Kumara (a Fishing Boat michanic who is a Roman Catholic): Rupees  110,000 (US $1,113.81) the startup cost.

 

2. Provided Medical examination costs for miss. Ruwani Chandira (a Buddhist) who has heart decease and her father cannot help her any longer because he lost his fishing boat in the Tsunami:  20000 Rupees (about US $ 202.50) a week long process.

 

3. Iron sheets ("Thahadu" we call it, metal sheets for roofing purposes) for 2 roofs for 2 family in Trincomalee (they are Christians, AOG church attendees): 48,300 Rupees.

4. Dry rastions for Babies (AOG church families): 12100 Rupees (US $ 122.51)

 

5. Lunch packets for families of the AOG church members who were affected: 7850 Rupees (US $ 79.48)

 

6. Started Rebuilding project (major repairs) for 2 damaged houses at Alabadagama (a city in the east coast). Mr Amarasena and Singharaja (Sri Lankan Dutch Reformed Church members):  estimated amount is 80,000 Rupees (US $ 810).

 

7. St. John`s Children home (Anglican) which was flooded badly, in Moratuwa (City in Southern Colombo). Had a Lunch and Day program with gifts: 15,150 Rupees (US $ 153.40)

 

8.  Cost of Meals for the ministry helpers:  5000 Rupees (US $ 50.60)

 

9. Vehicle/transportation charges for the ministry team:  25,000 rupees (US $ 253.13)
