An Encouraging note from Art… Someone said "much of the world is filled with people who are the walking weary." They are controlled by the circumstances of life instead of being in control of the circumstances. The question is how is this person able to control life's circumstances? The answer is that he can't totally control all situations so he needs to learn how to give the situations over to someone who can. Jesus said, as found in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." That I believe is a promise from Jesus which is fulfilled by Him if we come to him. Jesus didn't say you come to me with your problems and I'll solve them. He said "I'll give you rest (peace)." We need to come to Jesus and give Him all of us. Lord Jesus I give to you my desires, my dreams, my thoughts, my material things, my family, my appetite, and control of my life. This is the start of coming to Jesus. Make this a daily prayer allowing Jesus to fulfill his promise. |
